To the residents of the Fourth Bristol District,

I would like to thank you for granting me the privilege of representing you for the past four years.

I never believed that you elected me to play it safe, and I didn’t.  I took on leadership and demanded an end to back-room politics.  I fought for and won reforms that will make our government more honest and accountable.  Next year, all State spending will be published on the Internet, and for the first time the State will reveal which private businesses that are receiving taxpayer subsidies.  There will be less waste with more people watching.

In the House, I always put the interests of our district and Commonwealth before my own political self-interests.  I was always honest with you. I never made empty campaign promises I couldn’t keep.  I did not compromise my values and held true to my principles. I would not have done it any other way.  I have no regrets.

Your friendship and support have made all the effort and sacrifice worthwhile.
